This Memorial Day, David & Ivory Ministries came together for a celebration rooted in remembrance, gratitude, and the joy of fellowship. At The Lieutenant’s House, clients and staff gathered for a meaningful afternoon that blended reflection with the comfort of a home‑cooked meal — a reminder of how community strengthens us during moments of honor and remembrance.
The celebration began with the solemn playing of Taps, its familiar notes calling everyone to pause and reflect. A moment of silence followed, honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. The room held a quiet reverence — a shared understanding that the freedoms we enjoy today were purchased at a cost.
One of our Lieutenants, a proud military veteran, then led the group in prayer. He spoke from the heart about what Memorial Day means to him personally — the weight of sacrifice, the memories of those he served alongside, and the responsibility we all carry to live with purpose and gratitude. After the prayer, the atmosphere shifted into warm fellowship as everyone gathered for a beautifully prepared meal. The kitchen served a feast that brought smiles all around: crispy fried catfish, golden french fries, hush puppies, fresh salad, and a homemade tartar sauce that quickly became a crowd favorite. For dessert, clients enjoyed a beautifully decorated American‑flag brownie cake, crafted with care and creativity — a sweet tribute to the day’s meaning.
Laughter, conversation, and gratitude filled the room as clients and staff shared food and fellowship. It was more than a meal; it was a moment of unity, healing, and community — the very heart of David & Ivory Ministries.
